Administrator Interview January 2015 – Justin

Today the last interview of the administrators from January, with Justin. “Smash Into Pieces will release their new album in February. I’m really looking forward to that.”

My song of the month: Rise Against – Life Less Frightening

Papa Roach – F.E.A.R.

  • What do you think about the new album of Papa Roach?
    • I really like it. The album has a good variation of fast and calm songs. Although I have to say that, when you hear the album often on one day, it all sounds a bit the same. (Yes, I am that crazy to listen the same album the whole day). Nevertheless I really like to listen to it.
  • What is your favourite song of the album?
    • It’s not very special to chose the single of the album, but Face Everything And Rise is my favourite. It really sounds awesome. What I like as well is that F.E.A.R., the name of the album, is the abbreviation of the song Face Everything And Rise. They really have thought about it, and I really like that.
  • What is your least favourite song of the album?
    • My least favourite song of the album is Never Have To Say Goodbye. It’s a very calm song and it doesn’t have a lot of variation during it.
  • What do you think about the fact that Papa Roach used much electronic rock in their new album?
    • I think it’s both a good and a bad choice. I think it’s a good choice because it just sounds very good. The songs are very energetic. At the other side, maybe it’s a bit too electronic compared with the past. Songs like Last Resort were just real rock and quite hard, and now they are much softer and electronic rock. I don’t say it’s a bad choice because I really like the new album, but it’s just weird to see a popular rock band turn into this.

Fall Out Boy – American Beauty/American Psycho

  • What do you think about the new album of Fall Out Boy?
    • I think it really sounds good. Really like their new style, although I have to say that I was a bit sceptical when I heard a few songs before the release. It’s completely different than their last album Save Rock And Roll, but I still like it.
  • What is your favourite song of the album?
    • Tough question. Centuries and Immortals sound good, but they’re both singles so I’m not likely to chose them. I’d say Irresistible, although that’s not a special choice as well, because it’s the first song of the album.
  • What is your least favourite song of the album?
    • American Beauty/American Psyhco. For further information, see the next question.
  • What do you think about the song American Beauty/American Psycho, which is the title of the album as well?
    • Well, I think this is the worst song of the album. It doesn’t sound very good, a bit chaotic. That’s why I don’t really like this song. Unfortunately this is the song which has the same name as the album, and it should represent the album. I think it doesn’t represent it very well.

New released songs

  • What do you think about Apocalyptic which is released by Halestorm?
    • The song sounds good, although I have to say that this song isn’t special for me. Nevertheless I hope that their album has some great songs. I’m really looking forward to it.
  • What do you think about Something’s Gotta Give which is released by All Time Low?
    • I think it’s a very good song. Although it’s completely different than their former songs, it’s a typical All Time Low song. Curious to this album as well.
  • What do you think about Checkmate which is released by Smash Into Pieces?
    • I think that the song doesn’t sound bad, but it’s not spectacular like their former singles. I hoped to hear a more spectacular song as a single. Nevertheless it sounds good and I hope that their second album is as good as their first.

Blog

  • This month you had the first Classics & Covers. What do you think about the first edition?
    • I really like it. It’s something different than our standard posts. I also like the fact that it’s not my idea but Timothy came up with it. He has a lot of freedom and I really like to see what he’ll make from it.

General Questions

  • Have you bought any new CD’s this month? What do you think about them?
    • I’ve bought a few CD’s. Two of them are F.E.A.R. from Papa Roach and American Beauty/American Psycho from Fall Out Boy, and I’ve already talked about them so I won’t do it here. The other CD I’ve bought is Joyride from Oleander. Oleander is a post-grunge band and they released the album in 2003. I heard a few songs before I bought it, but I really like it. I don’t know many people who like post-grunge, but it sounds very good in my opinion.
  • Have you discovered any new bands this month? Which one do you like the most?
  • To which song did you listen the most this month?
    • I listened a lot to A Friend Like You from Smash Into Pieces. First I didn’t really like that song, but after a while I loved it and I repeat it many times.
  • Which song is your song of the month?
    • Tough question, but I’d say Life Less Frightening from Rise Against.
  • What do you expect from February?
    • Smash Into Pieces will release their new album this month so I’m really looking forward to it. I also have many CD’s which I want to buy so it could be an expensive month.
