Lyrics

Oh captain, my captain, time to escape

‘Cause I’m done wasting away

There’s always a someone who wants you to stay

But why? Oh, why?

You command me to listen, you beg me to wait

But I keep drifting away

‘Cause I know you’ll make sense if I let you explain

I am the reason for this treason but it ain’t no fault of mine

Forgiving and forgetting the line is very fine

Baby I am what I am

I’m gonna be a sailing man

Away from land

I ain’t got nobody to hold me down

Baby you can’t understand

I wanna be a sailing man

Away from land

I ain’t got nobody to hold me down

Oh captain, my captain, take me away

‘Cause I’m getting wasted again

I know how you feel so get on with your grieving

You better believe it, I’m leaving

My mind is a blister, Jack with a twist yeah

Nobody taught me to stop

Relieve me the pressure ‘cause I’m gonna drop

I am the reason for this treason but it ain’t no fault of mine

Forgiving and forgetting the line is very fine

Baby I am what I am

I’m gonna be a sailing man

Away from land

I ain’t got nobody to hold me down

Baby you can’t understand

I wanna be a sailing man

Away from land

I ain’t got nobody to hold me down

I don’t like it, I don’t like it

I’ve got a feeling that it’s good, and I don’t like it

I can’t stand it, I don’t like it

I just don’t give a damn

Baby I am what I am

I’m gonna be a sailing man

Away from land

I ain’t got nobody to hold me down

Baby you can’t understand

I wanna be a sailing man

Away from land

I ain’t got nobody to hold me down

Yea, I’m gonna be a sailing man

Opinion Daniël

The start of the song is quite funny, but when the ‘classic’ part starts it’s becoming a very good song.

Opinion Justin

The start of the song is quite strange. It’s calm, but after that suddenly the song starts. The balance between the couplets and refrains are good. The refrains are quite hard, while the couplets are a bit calmer. This song has a lot of energy the whole time and it never becomes boring, which is the strength of this song.

Opinion Timothy

The start of the song was pretty boring, but the first refrain was quite good. The second couplet of the song wasn’t very special as well. The longer I listened this song, the better it became.
